Subject: Report regarding misleading business identification and suspected violations – TasoGroup OÜ (16276460)
Dear Estonian Tax and Customs Board (EMTA),
I would like to report potential violations committed by the company TasoGroup OÜ, registry code 16276460, VAT number EE102393796.
The company operates the online store
https://tasoclean.fi
, targeting Finnish consumers.
However, the website presents the business using false and misleading registration details, which may violate Estonian and EU commercial and tax regulations.
1. Misleading identification on the website
On the bottom of the website tasoclean.fi, the company presents itself as:
“TasoGroup Oy – Y-tunnus 16276460”
However:
16276460 is NOT a Finnish Y-tunnus, but the Estonian registry number of TasoGroup OÜ.
The company uses the Finnish corporate suffix “Oy”, although it is registered as OÜ in Estonia.
This creates the false impression of a Finnish entity operating under Finnish law.
This practice appears intentionally misleading and may violate:
Estonian Commercial Code requirements
EU consumer protection rules
Transparency obligations for VAT-registered companies
Fair competition rules
2. Possible tax or cross-border compliance issues
Because the company pretends to be a Finnish business, questions arise regarding:
proper declaration of cross-border B2C sales,
VAT treatment of goods sold to Finnish customers,
correct registration of economic activity in Finland,
compliance with distance-selling thresholds and OSS regulations.
The company may be avoiding Finnish regulatory oversight by disguising its actual jurisdiction.
3. Consumer harm
There are multiple cases where customers:
paid for goods,
did not receive the items,
cannot reach the company,
receive no response to complaints,
have postal letters returned undelivered.
This is consistent with fraudulent or non-compliant activity.
4. Request for investigation
I kindly request EMTA to:
Review whether TasoGroup OÜ complies with its obligations as an Estonian VAT-registered business.
Verify whether the use of false Finnish company identifiers is lawful.
Assess whether the company is properly reporting and declaring cross-border sales to Finland.
Take enforcement action if violations are found.
