The Finnish Immigration Service issues residence permits on the basis of temporary protection for a maximum of one year at a time.
First residence permits granted to those receiving temporary protection are valid for no more than one year. In accordance with the decision of the Council of the European Union, residence permits may be granted on the basis of temporary protection until 4 March 2023. Extended permits may be granted after this date, if the Council decision remains in force."
