Please Answer My Questions, Chaps :)
Here are some of my inquiries:
- What role does a high school diploma play in the admission process if a polytechnic uses discretional admission? - Suppose I've applied for admisson to one of the polytechnics in Finland. Suppose they send me an invitation to take their entrance exams. Having passed, how long do I have to wait until the college sends me a letter of acceptance/denial? - How long is my visa going to be valid for? - Can I wait for their final decision in Finland or I have to go back to my country? - Housing while in Finland: how much does it cost to stay somewhere overnight ( let's say, the cheapest?) - How much is a plane/train ticket form Moscow/St. Petersburg ti Helsinki/another city? - Insurance: is it really true that I can purchase one right near the embassy/consulate? - Price for an insurance? - Cost of food/clothes in Finland? Truly. Appreciate it. |
- How long is my visa going to be valid for?
it depends on the type of visa. - Housing while in Finland: how much does it cost to stay somewhere overnight ( let's say, the cheapest?) hostel. from 30e - How much is a plane/train ticket form Moscow/St. Petersburg ti Helsinki/another city? train ticket form St. Petersburg to Helsinki costs 60euro, bus - from 20e, ferry - from 80e - Insurance: is it really true that I can purchase one right near the embassy/consulate? At least you can do this in SPB - Price for an insurance? 0.5 per day - Cost of food/clothes in Finland? it depends :) |
Thanks, Megaswin :)
Can I get my visa in St. Petersburg or Moscow (I am NOT from Russia?) What's the difference? How long is my visa going to be valid for if it is given based on my letter of invitation to the entrance exams? What documents do I need to purchase an insurance besides my passport? |
Does anybody know anything about the city of Kouvola? Have you ever heard of Kymenlaakso UAS located in that city?
|
Я, конечно, не против, чтоб народ в английском попрактиковался, но форум-то русскоязычный, здесь можно на русском общаться.:D

Thanks, we know that :) However, the education we get is in English. And, as I know, practice makes perfect. That's why. |

Да я так, мимо проходила, но точно знаю, что автор в достаточной степени владеет русским, ну или кто-то, кто рядом с ним.:) Просто я к тому, что на русском задавая вопросы больше шансов получить компетентные ответы.:) |
Good job, Megaswin :)
I've called those guys before... They told me I could get an insurance right near the embassy/consulate... Another question which the embassy representatives did not have an answer to - what documents do I have to provide? They advised me to contact one of the insurance agencies in Russia... How the hell do I call those guys if they are hanging outside at the embassy? Are here any ppl that have purchased an insurance like that before? |
Цитата:
Why is that? Not many ppl here who can speak/write fluent English? LOL Come on... |

"Can I wait for their final decision in Finland or I have to go back to my country?"
what citizenship do you have? "Insurance: is it really true that I can purchase one right near the embassy/consulate?" It depends on whether you are applying for a visa or residence permit. There is a big difference between these two types of permits. If you have a visa, then you cannot stay longer than 90 days within a half of year. In this care a travel insurance is valid. However, if you have a residence permit for studies, then your insurance may or may not be valid. You have to read its conditions before you purchase the insurance. If you are lazy to find a suitable cheap insurance, then you may consider www.swisscare.ch and enjoy VIP privileges. "Housing while in Finland: how much does it cost to stay somewhere overnight ( let's say, the cheapest?)" You can stay in a railway station which is open during the night. Just bring your sleeping bag. It's free. |

are you sure it's open at night in Kuovola? Цитата:

I am from Kazakhstan. Being a citizen of this one, you do not have a waiver. In other words, I do have to get a visa. As I have understood, I will need two different insurances - one for entering Finland on a visa for the entrance exams, the second one for a residence permit after I get accepted. Is that correct? "...if you are lazy to find a suitable cheap insurance, you may consider..." But here's the point - I've decided to talk about it here so I can ask other people about a proper or, let's say, cheaper insurance which will be the right one at the same time. I am sure there are some students in this forum who have done it before. "You can stay at the railway station..." GTFO |

ИМХО, считаю не то что неприличным, но и несколько глупым писать на английском на русскоязычном сайте, в правилах которого это запрещено :D хотя оригинальненько :D даже никто пока еще в поиск не послал :D
