To apply for Schengen visa to Finland and Iceland the following is required:
* Passport valid for no less than 3 months after the anticipated return from Finland/Iceland. A Note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan should be attached to service and diplomatic passports, together with the invitation from the inviting side.
* 1 copy of the passport page containing personal information. It's recommended to provide also copies of the applicant's previous/other visas.
* A copy of the National Identity Card (Azərbaycan Respublikası vətəndaşinın şəxsiyyət vəsiqəsi) (both sides).
* 1 copy of filled in visa application form. Application forms are obtainable from the Embassy weekdays from 10.00 to 12.00 or it can be downloaded here. When filling in the form, make sure that the spelling of your name is identical to that in your passport. Please note that it is very important to provide correct information and fill in the application form properly.
* 2 photos which should meet the relevant requirements. For detailed information on the required photos please click here.
* Power of attorney from a not-travelling parent translated into English and verified notarially (original and 1 copy). This document is required if children are travelling with one of the parents and should contain the consent of the not-travelling parent for children to travel with the travelling parent.
* Letter of invitation from a Finnish/Icelandic citizen or a foreigner who is a permanent resident in Finland/Iceland for private visits (please see the details and additional list of documents below), or a company registered in Finland/Iceland for business trips (please see the details and additional list of documents below). Please note that the invitations delivered by the applicants should be original or they could be faxed or e-mailed by the inviting side directly to the Embassy. Other fax copies or e-mail print outs of the invitations are not accepted.
* Copy of a travel/medical insurance which should be valid in the Schengen area and cover the whole travel period and sum for 45,000.00 US dollars or 30,000.00 EURO, at least. Please not that if the travel and medical insurance is not delivered the visa will not be issued. Service or diplomatic passport's holder will not be requested by the Royal Norwegian Embassy to show his/her insurance upon receiving the visa, but he/she is advised to bring such insurance when he/she travels to any Schengen country. When applying for a visa the applicant is advised to choose an insurance company which is entitled to reimburse the amount paid for the insurance policy in case of a negative result of his/her visa application’s processing. According to the Schengen rules on the border each person travelling to a Schengen state could be asked to show a medical and travel insurance. In case if the required insurance is not shown the traveller will not be allowed to enter the country of destination.
Additional requirements for private visits:
* A private invitation shoul be written/typed in English and contain the detailed information about the inviting side (full name, address, contact numbers, identity number, correct information about the relations between the inviting person/persons and invitee/s), purpose of theintended visit, guarantees, etc.; copy of the inviting side's passport. Please note that the invitations delivered by the applicants should be original or they could be faxed or e-mailed by the inviting side directly to the Embassy. Other fax copies or e-mail print outs of the invitations are not accepted.
* A letter from the employer should contain the information on the invited employee (position, salary, etc.) and testify that the employee (applicant) is allowed to be away for the mentioned period, and that he/she will take his/her responsibilities on return.
* If the applicant is going to cover the expenses related to the intended trip himself/herself, he/she is recommended to provide copies of documents on owning property as well as bank statement on the applicant's account (the statement from the bank should contain the information on when the account was opened and the current amount availble on this account).
Please note that in order to process the application it's very important to deliver documentation meeting the above-mentioned criteria.
