The Finnish government is ready to grant a license for a gas pipeline from Russia to Germany to use Finland's economic zone.
"Speaking at a Baltic seminar in Hamina on Friday, Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen said the majority Russian-owned Nord Stream could receive the license in September or October.
He added Finland was ready to take on the bulk of responsibility for several EU security and environment projects concerning the Baltic Sea. In an interview given to YLE, he said a decision on the pipeline was an urgent issue."
