Vegetovascular dystonia is a Russian term, which has been inaccurately translated. It is a syndrome, known on the West as autonomic neuropathy, affecting mostly cardiovascular system. It is a syndrome which has been used widely to describe a whole range of vascular responses, such as postural (orthostatic) hypotension with tachycardia response, poor R-R variability on ECG and etc. Usually such diagnosis is made by the neurologists for the patients with vague symptoms associated with lowish blood pressure, facial pallor, sometimes minor arrhythmias (in your case they refer to the atrial ectopies), palpitations, micturition, temperature-induced exacerbation of hypotension. It is frequently associated with minor symptoms of hypochondria or depression, poor dermatographic response, excessive or inadequate vasoconstriction response on cold, lightheadedness, sympathetic vasomotor changes etc.
